About Dave

Dave, or Digi Dave as he is known, joined the Aspen/Snowmass marketing team on November 1, 2010. While he may look barely old enough to drink, he has a longstanding history with the ski industry. He started his career at Sunday River, Maine, where as a 16-year-old, he caught the eye of management in the resort’s forums. The area couldn’t ignore Dave’s passion for involving himself in the online community so they brought him aboard in the marketing and communications department. Once there, he developed web campaigns and moderated Sunday River’s online presence.
In 2005, while on a ski vacation in Colorado, Dave was offered the job of Online Editor and Interactive Services Manager for Freeskier Magazine. He immediately packed what he could into his car and headed west. During his five years with the Freeskier, he developed Freeskier.com into one of the first socially driven action-sports news sites on the planet. In recognition of his online successes, he was awarded the 2008 Ski Area Management “Sammy” award for marketing leadership and in 2009 the Freeskier Magazine Podcast on iTunes was awarded a “Top 10 Video Podcast” by Apple, a recognition typically reserved for media outlets like ESPN and ABC Sports.
At SkiCo, Dave is responsible for keeping a keen eye on emerging technologies, developing our mobile applications, managing our social marketing efforts, crafting newsletters, and creating photos and video with a rag-tag bunch of local rippers called the #ContentCrew. He’s also working as a technical liaison with our current web-development agency, One to One Interactive, for our website redevelopment project. Dave is a valuable conduit to the inner-workings with One to One since he was briefly employed with the agency prior to joining SkiCo.
When he’s not behind a keyboard or lens, Dave enjoys road biking, hiking, swimming, German cars, traveling, and is learning how to mountain bike without being terrified. He also spends entirely too much time and money at the Sky Hotel.
